(Letters from Rome)


Synopsis
A woman's voice. Speaking about an old friend from Rome. He was there to visit the city, to shoot a film. What we see, are the photos he took in preparation for this film. The woman recounts the experiences he wrote about in his letters to her. She recounts his impressions of the city and tries to remember him through his photos. The film he is working on does not get made, but he writes her the film's story in his last letter. This is the story that she wants to tell now.

Directors' commentary
On a visual level Letters from Rome consists of photos of Rome only. Calm but steady these photos change, sometimes showing what is described in the text, sometimes contrast it, sometimes regress.
